Our story began growing its roots during the golden age…
Back in the 1950’s, our founder Kelsey was stationed in San Diego while serving in the Navy.
During that time he was dating the daughter of a local roofer, and in order to win the respect of his girlfriend's father, he decided to work for the company. He found out quickly that it was hard work, and he wasn’t impressing anybody at first...
After working his way up and slowly earning his stripes, Kelsey decided to ‘hang up his own shingle’ and start a roofing company. Another decade later, Larson Roofing was was born in the 1960’s and Kelsey officially got his license on April 19th, 1967 (CSLB #247618 ).
The focus of Larson Roofing was primarily on residential roofs, just like we are today, although they would take jobs in commercial and government now and then.
Seth joined the team in 2006 after starting his own successful remodeling company which is still running to this day. Seth and Kelsey have both been in the industry their entire lives and had worked together for a long time before they began discussions of Seth taking the reins and growing the company to what it is today.
Running a company well past it's 50th year in business is something that rarely happens anymore, and we take great pride in that!
Kelsey is now almost fully retired as of this writing, although it's doubtful that he will ever throw in the towel. He still gives his earnest, sage advice from time to time and is always welcome to see how the company is growing, and loves to talk with the guys.
Seth has incorporated and grown the business quite a bit since our humble days back in the 1960's, and while we changed the name to Resilient Roofing, the knowledge, hard work, wisdom and happy clients from Larson Roofing still play a huge role in the success the company enjoys to this day.
